Event Schedule
  In light of the numerous outbreaks of SDA Virus and Sendai Virus happening all over the country in recent years, RMCA has decided to take drastic action in the hopes that these outbreaks will be stopped, or at least lessened. RMCA will NO LONGER sanction shows! Too many members are losing their beloved pet rats and it seems that the incentive of winning ribbons or trophies at shows is largely responsible. Those awards are just too much motivation for some people and they are failing to use proper quarantine procedures. Those same people are also being dishonest about their LACK of quarantine procedures, bringing exposed animals to RMCA events, and it is costing our animals their lives! We are supposed to be involved in a Rat and Mouse club because of our love for these animals. Putting their lives at risk by holding shows is not what this club was meant to do. Unfortunately, we know that this will not completely stop pet rat owners from losing their beloved pets, and that other clubs will still hold shows and have outbreaks, but we hope it will at least stop it from happening to the beloved pets of RMCA members. |
